Snorkeling and Diving
While you are in the islands, nothing is prefect without doing diving or snorkeling. The marine area around Pulau Tioman and eight other nearby islands have been gazzetted as marine parks and marine reserves, confined to an area two nautical miles from the coast. Apart from Tioman, the other islands that made up the Pulau Tioman Marine Park are Pulau Labas, Pulau Sepoi, Pulau Gut, Pulau Tokong Bahara, Pulau Chebeh, Pulau Tulai, Pulau Sembilang and Pulau Seri Buat.
Chill up and relax at the beach
There’s nothing better than going for an early morning walk along the beach when on holiday! It’s good for the soul. Salang Beach and Paya Beach is one of the places you have to check out while you are staying in Tioman Island. The beautiful beach with the relax environment offers much more that soothes the tensed senses.
The most rewarding thing I did on Tioman was to take a four wheel drive taxi to the far side of the island, and walk back through the jungle from Juara Beach. There is no road, just a dirt rack. By the time we had spent 30 minutes bouncing over the mountain to get there, I was starting to regret the idea!
In fact, it was wonderful. The first bit is tough, as it is an uphill slog up the only portion of paved road. After that, the track goes one way, and the dirt road the other. The jungle path is impossible to get lost on, and most of it is either on the flat or downhill! It took a few hours, but gave us a real sense of achievement. Beautiful forest.
